The Commons Society ensures its members understand their employers finances
- The Commons Society (CSoc) is a shareholder in every commercial enterprise
- the financial results are therefore visible to it
- it has power to inspect books
- development fund pays for internal communications and training to explain finances to CSoc members.
- Co-workers are owners (members) of CSoc
- the financial condition of the Company is therefore made visible to all employees, even if information is not shared by Directors
- managers cannot hide information so a culture of secrecy is hard to maintain
- trust is fostered leading to greater success
- when profit is shared, it is shared with all, not just managers
