The Commons Society ensures its members understand their employers finances

  • The Commons Society (CSoc) is a shareholder in every commercial enterprise
    • the financial results are therefore visible to it
    • it has power to inspect books
    • development fund pays for internal communications and training to explain finances to CSoc members.
  • Co-workers are owners (members) of CSoc
    • the financial condition of the Company is therefore made visible to all employees, even if information is not shared by Directors
    • managers cannot hide information so a culture of secrecy is hard to maintain
    • trust is fostered leading to greater success
    • when profit is shared, it is shared with all, not just managers
